Your path to consistent practice

TallyFelt helps you practice three related concepts: basic strategy in the Strategy Drill, the Hi-Lo running count in the Counting Drill, and simulated decision review in the Practice Shoe. The product explains practice choices; it does not predict, guarantee, or improve real-world gambling outcomes.

Use TallyFelt for education and simulated practice only. It does not provide financial or real-money guidance. Follow applicable laws and venue rules, and pause if this subject is causing harm.

01 · Basic strategy charts

Find your hand on the left, the dealer's upcard on top. These charts are generated dynamically from the same engine that grades you, using your rule settings.

Hard totals

Soft totals (hand with an Ace counted as 11)

Pairs

H = Hit S = Stand D = Double (Ds = double, else stand) P = Split R = Surrender (else hit/stand/split)

Use the chart as a structured reference while you practice. The drill gives feedback based on the same selected rules so that the chart and coaching stay consistent.

  • Compare the hand and upcard: use the selected rule set to practice identifying the chart action.
  • Review the explanation: after each drill response, use the coaching note to understand the chart logic.
  • Practice pairs separately: pairs use their own chart branch, so repeat them until the pattern is familiar.
  • Use the simulator deliberately: the goal is decision practice, not a recommendation to gamble.

02 · The Hi-Lo count — see a card, feel its value

Hi-Lo is a counting-practice system that assigns a simple value to each card family. In this simulator, you practice retaining the running count while cards appear in sequence. It is educational content, not a recommendation about real-money gambling.

Count in pairs — most cancel

A king and a four wash out at a glance. Cancelling pairs instead of counting card-by-card is the whole speed secret. The running count starts at 0 on every shuffle; a full deck ends at exactly 0.

The simulator uses the true-count calculation as a learning prompt. It is not a prediction, a guarantee, or a recommendation for a real-money decision.

03 · Exploring deviations in simulation

Basic strategy assumes a neutral practice deck. In the simulator, you can compare selected count-context decision rules after you have practiced the core charts. The goal is to understand the logic and review feedback, not to receive real-world gambling instructions.

These examples are shown for educational comparison in the TallyFelt simulator. They do not guarantee results and should not be treated as real-money guidance.

Responsible practice

  • Use TallyFelt to learn and review simulated decisions, not as a reason to gamble.
  • Do not use devices, marked cards, or any conduct that violates law or venue rules.
  • Practice results are not financial results and do not predict future outcomes.
  • If gambling is causing harm, stop and seek local support. In the United States, call or text 1-800-GAMBLER.

Counting Drill

Cards flash one at a time. Keep the running count in your head (2–6 = +1 · 7–9 = 0 · 10–A = −1), then enter your final count. Work up to a full deck in under 30 seconds with zero errors.
